I'm kind of sad... one of my favorite TV shows, Pushing Daisies, appears to be in danger of getting canceled.
I suppose that I can't say I'm all that surprised. From the first episode, I thought that this show was so awesome, so quirky, that I predicted that it wouldn't last more than a few episodes before it got the axe. I felt the same way when I first saw the first episode of Arrested Development. Of course, somehow Arrested Development somehow was able to scrape by for a few glorious seasons. I kind of don't think that Pushing Daisies will make it that far though...
So help me out here... start watching Pushing Daisies!!! Thanks.
-UPDATE-
Shit... I guess I'm too late... I just read that ABC pulled the plug on it. That just sucks. I can only hope that they can make a movie of it. I'm not holding my breath. I'm super bummed. This is a show that just should have been on HBO, not ABC. It is too good. Too well written. Too sophisticated. DANG IT!
Well, as you might imagine, I've been watching a lot of TV lately. With the writers strike, a lot of good shows have been on hiatus (and a lot of crap has been on). I was kind of bummed, because there were some really excellent shows that were not getting big ratings, and I was a bit worried that some shows that I like would end up being cancelled. Well, it looks like that (mostly) won't be the case...
My favorite new show on network TV has got to be "Pushing Daisies". It looks like that will is going to get renwed. Yay! From the first episode, I totally thought that Pushing Daisies wouldn't last a year... and with the writers strike, I figured it was a sure gonner. It is also comforting to know that 30 Rock is getting renewed. That show is certainly one of the best on television, but I had been reading reports that its fate was not secure because of low ratings. The Office will also get renewed - also one of the best shows on TV. The one network show that I like, which may still not get renewed is Friday Night Lights. I guess a decision has not been made on that one yet.
On another note, if you have cable, and missed "Californication," "Flight of the Conchords," and "Mad Men"... well, you missed out on some quality shows...
